SoundDownloader - Download streamed audio tracks
If someone told you, about fifteen years ago, that you would be able to listen to music on your computer, without having the audio file on your hard drive, you would not have believed him. Thanks to high speed Internet connections, this is very possible and it is not difficult. Unfortunately, if you want those songs on your hard drive, there is no obvious way to download them. By using SoundDownloader, you will be able to download audio tracks which are streamed on soundcloud.com or extract the sound from YouTube videos. The process is fast and the quality of the files will not be altered.
The setup process is not complex or difficult, but you should still look carefully on what you click. If you rush blindly through the process, you may find new tools installed on your web browser. The software itself does not take up too much space on your hard drive and its system requirements are modest.
SoundDownloader does not offer very much when it comes to its user interface, but the functionality it provides will definitely satisfy your needs. All you have to do is copy a track's web link, paste it on the interface and click a button to start downloading. You may open a settings panel to specify a default output folder, set the program to open that folder when it is done downloading and select a language.
Before downloading a music track, you can use a drop menu to select MP3 or AAC as the output format. The software can download any audio file that is streamed on soundcloud.com and it can even download soundtracks from YouTube videos. Just provide a video's URL, click the same button and the software will download and convert the track immediately.
Pros:
SoundDownloader is very straightforward. Apart from selecting an output folder and format or choosing a language, there are no other settings to encounter. The application is capable of downloading and converting sound tracks in less than a minute.
Cons:
SoundDownloader would be even more useful if it weren't limited just to soundcloud.com and YouTube.
